Excuse The Interruption

Sorry for any reader whom avidly approached my website in a search to find new or updated information. It is just simply impossible to keep an active social life, attend classes on a daily basis, maintain a grade point average of nothing under a 3.0, and do athletics all while maintain this site. However, during the summer I shall post new and informative details that shall help anyone who visits this web page.

Please continue to look through the other side bars my Neighborhoods tab re-directs you to a site that had helped develop which shows the various Chicago Neighborhoods in detail and if you’re new to Chicago the Athletics tab is a great way to find out about some really good sport teams – Go Blue Demons!

Happy New Year and you can be sure to hear from me come Summertime Chicago.

No Olympics, But We Sure Do Have The Marathon

Sorry Chicago we never got the opportunity to host the Olympics in Chicago for 2016, which means Olympic Village will not become apartments and condominiums. However, we certainly do have the spirit when it comes to supporting and cheering on our fellow Chicagoans. I had the opportunity to volunteer for this year’s marathon and it was just an ecstatic and energetic place to be. Chicagoans everywhere had the chance to unite as one and run jog or walk to the finish line. Being at aid station 6 on Clark St. and Belden Ave., you can only see how much a marathon truly means to an individual, especially for someone who is sponsored and is supporting a cause such as Breast Cancer. I look forward to the next event I will get to volunteer at and make a difference to someone no matter how small the impact.

Low on Cash

If you are down on luck and in search of a way to pay for a your homestead then the option of obtaining a roommate is always available. Most people have a fear that if they decide to gain a roommate, that  new companion will become strict, controlling corrupt, evil, and basically just not the person that they originally intended to live with. They develop an alter-ego and it is unbareable to live under the conditions that person is putting you under.

Although, a good majority have been fortunate enough to get a roommate that is a great counterpart to live with. However, for the rest of us there are websites such as roommates.com, where the subject can create accounts similar to what is known as E-Harmony, creating an online profile to either advertise the need for a place to stay or to advertise the willing to allow for someone to room with you.

These sites are dedicated to helping you in search and will offer some of the best services available on the market next to actually obtaing a certified realtor that knows the ins and outs of the industry, but they ciese to represent people in search of a quality match for roommates.

Renters Beware

There is a scam that is starting to pick up a trend amongst Craigslist but is seen in other advertisement venues as well. Scammers will create the deal of a lifetime for the client but, in all actuality there is no apartment or the place is not available at all. The scammer asks for all of your information including your social security number and usually a 2 month rent deposit. Reasons such as these help ensure that Realtors will keep you out of sticky situations and will only have your interest in mind. A Realtor will also allow for you to continue your daily life worry free and at the end of the night you will come away with the property of you dreams or the next best thing.

3 Pointers for Public Speaking

As I cleaned out my office desk earlier today, signifying the end of my summer internship with the prestigious Rubloff Residential Properties, and the beginning of my Sophomore year at DePaul University. I came across some of my notes from the beginning of the season that I wanted to share with everyone. One issue that troubles many people if not everyone at one point in time is speaking to an audience and I have a few pointers to reduce that tension.

1.     Relate – If you want to catch the attention of any audience member you must relate your speech towards them, no matter how unappealing it may be. If you are a mathematician trying to persuade investors to use your new formula on predicting key-opportune investments. Then use terminology they understand and can relate to you dont want to lose any of your audience droning to them about the procedures and physics you had used, and be sure that you are using grammar that they can follow.

2.     Entertain – You want for the audience to have fun the worst stage fright arises when you are speaking and no one responds. If the situation is serious deliver a speech that has your audience gasping; if it is informative then throw in a story that a majority, if not all of the audience might have encountered before then go into details of what you intend to say. Having a response from the audience is crucial to many speeches it shows the audience you want to communicate with them and not just at them.

3.     Capture Attention – When you are speaking the eyes of the audiences wonder around the room. If you are staying still behind a podium it is showing you have a defensive viewpoint to your guest. Open up that defensive barricade by moving about if you are on stage or walking an invisible line fornt of your viewers if in a smaller setting such as a classroom, but be sure to stay in front of your audience and to never turn your back to them.  One issue that is often faces is when someone enters the room late, all of your attention and momentum from speaking quickly shifts towards the person whom just walked in. What you should do is walk in the direction of that person while continuing to speak and slowly regain the attention of your viewers then walk back to your originating position, all without turning your back to them.

I hoped these tips helped some of you with trouble speaking with an audience. I am going to attach a video of Google’s very own Matt Cutt discussing SEO content, watch how he interacts with his audience and notice his calmness with them, developing a rapport such as this with your audience really sets forth a great prominence for you as a speaker.

Air & Water Show

What a turnout, with an accomplished estimate of over  two million people The Air and water show lived to its expectations. The only challenge face this past weekend seemed to be the unfavorable weather, some citizens viewed simply fog while others dealt with sweltering heat and humidity; all of this seemed to have been avoided by on-lookers whom decided to take a dip in Lake Michigan.  But regardless of this and the rain delays faced, the annual Air and Water show had went off without a hitch and still received the oohs and ahhhs from the immense crowd.  The acrobatics displayed during this show were so flawless, that you would have thought twice whether what you were seeing is real.
